Image quality and metadata
Each source file produces one JPG from its first decoded image. The tool does not resize the decoded image, but JPEG re-encoding is lossy, even at 100% quality. Higher quality usually means a larger file; JPG is not guaranteed to be smaller than HEIC. Original EXIF/GPS metadata, HDR information, additional images and Live Photo motion are not preserved.
Local processing and compatibility
