About This Tool
PDF Booklet Creator prepares an existing PDF for printing, folding, and saddle-stitch binding. Select 1 × 2 to place two source pages on each output side in booklet order. Start with a document in normal reading order.
How booklet page order works
An 8-page PDF uses two duplex sheets: the first has pages 8 and 1 on the front, 2 and 7 on the back; the second has 6 and 3 on the front, 4 and 5 on the back. A booklet needs a multiple of four page positions, so a 5-page PDF gets 3 blank slots and still uses two sheets.
Preview the PDF you will download
Choose A4, Letter, or Legal paper, orientation, page rotation, and 0–50 pt padding. Generate the output to see actual PDF page artwork with front/back labels and source page numbers. The preview and download use the same PDF. Changing a setting clears the result until you generate it again.
Booklet printing and N-up layouts
The 2 × 2, 2 × 4, and 4 × 4 grids are ordinary N-up layouts in reading order; use 1 × 2 for folding. For a booklet, print the exported PDF at 100% with duplex enabled and do not apply booklet mode again in the printer driver. Test one sheet to check orientation and edge flipping before printing all sheets.

Why are blank pages added to a booklet?

Yes. After generation, the preview shows the actual PDF pages on both sides of each sheet. The preview and download use the same PDF. Changing settings requires generating a new result.
